If I retain you, what can I do to assist you to keep my costs down? 

Ahead of our first meeting, I would be assisted to have your story in narrative form, together with a chronology of key dates and events, supporting documents where available, such as trust deeds, agreements, wills, financial accounts and bank statements for example.  I typically provide new clients with a questionnaire to complete before our first meeting that is intended to give me some insight as to key dates and events, the nature and extent of the pool of assets and specific questions arising, whether they be short or long term. 

If an agreement cannot be reached, will I need to go to court? 

No. There are other available forms of dispute resolution, including, arbitration and mediation, which can be accessed quickly and a fraction of the cost of litigation.
